You're invited to a full day of career exploration. Find an overview of what we cover below!

  • Travel will be covered for all current service members in the state where the event is taking place.
  • Alumni can send a transportation funding request for up to $50 to Robyn (robyn.wardell@foodcorps.org) with the following:
    • Location and date of Career Roadshow you wish to attend
    • Where you’ll be traveling from
    • 1-3 sentences regarding your financial situation and how the $50 would be beneficial

AGENDA

9:00-9:15am Welcome, Introductions and Blessings

9:15-10:15am Career Exploration and Reflection: We'll provide context for how to think about your career trajectory and review the results of your Strong Interest Inventory.

10:15-10:30am Break

10:30-11:15am Job seeking and how to get the job that you want: We'll review the primary ways you should go about finding a job in your field of interest.

11:15-12:30pm Resumes & Cover Letters We'll provide an overview of do's and don'ts, help you articulate how your FoodCorps experience prepares you for positions and provide ample time for peer reviews.

12:30-1:15pm Lunch will be provided

1:15-2:45pm Effective Interviewing: This will be an interactive, skills-based session to help you articulate your skills and experiences in an interview setting.

2:45-3:00pm Break

3:00-3:45pm Building Networking Skills: We will have an opportunity for you to network with one another and share best practices around effective network-building. Then we’ll put it into practice with employers who are coming to meet and network with you.

3:45-4:00pm Closing Reflections & Blessing
