Are you a Black, Indigenous, Multiracial, or person of color at the beginning of a career in school nutrition, but looking for guidance and support? Or, are you a BIMPOC school nutrition professional who is interested in connecting with folks getting into the profession? Great news!
FoodCorps is launching a mentorship program to connect BIMPOC FoodCorps service members (and others embarking on a career in school nutrition) with leaders who are already established in their field! Kicking off in the new year, we’ll encourage mentors and their mentees to meet monthly to get to know one another and support each other in their work. FoodCorps will support the conversations with topics to dig into and questions to spur connection.
If you’re ready to get involved, please fill out the mentor or mentee application by November 12th, and we’ll work on getting you paired with a mentor. If you have any questions, come to our Q&A on Wednesday, November 10th at 1pm PT. Please RSVP here! You can submit specific questions when you register, or send them to morgan.mcghee@foodcorps.org. If you can’t make the Q&A live, just submit your question and we’ll be sure to share the recording with you.
